We are really lucky this year to be able to work with lots of different adults. The Reception children will follow the new Early Years Curriculum and spend time integrating with our Nursery children. The Year 1 children will begin working on the Key Stage 1 curriculum as well as having access to the continuous provision we have in our classrooms every day. Exciting times ahead!

Summer 2 2022
The Great Outdoors
The Reception children will be thinking about "The Great Outdoors" this half term. We will be looking after sunflower seeds and watching them grow, taking a closer look at the features of plants, exploring the outdoors for mini beasts, learning about farms, meeting some animals at school and finally, we will think about the Summer and the seaside.
It's going to be a busy, but exciting half term!

Welly Wednesday - Fairy Houses
On Wednesday 8th June, the Reception children built houses for a range of fantasy characters, including fairies and superheroes. They collected lots of natural materials from the school grounds, including sticks, leaves, stones and grass and found the perfect place for creating their homes. The children also used a camera to take a photograph of their creations. Take a look below.
Summer 1 2022
"Let's Go!"
In Reception this half term, we will be exploring different types of transport. We will be building models, comparing old and new transport and investigating how different types of transport work.
We will be starting our fabulous
Welly Wednesday's in Reception too!
Year 1
In Science, the children in Year 1 will be taking a closer look at plants and growing. They will be visiting Mrs Bailey's garden and also taking a trip to our local Morrisons.
In Geography, the children will be comparing hot and cold countries.

Our First Welly Wednesday!
On Wednesday 27th April, everyone was really excited in Reception.....it was our first Welly Wednesday!! The children brought their wellies to school and couldn't wait to put them on. They went outside and explored lots of interesting activities, including gardening, painting with water, giant rollers for mark making, rockers, frogs and logs, the playhouse, sand, water and construction . Spring 2 2022
This half term, the Reception children will be thinking about People Who Help Us and Transport.
There are some special days at this time of year, including Pancake Day and World Book Day. We are looking forward to celebrating these in school!
The children in Year 1 will be continuing their work in Science each week. They will be exploring signs of Spring, conducting some fun experiments and taking part in British Science Week!
In RE, they will be thinking about Special People, Places and Events and in Music, they will have the chance to use their voices expressively, play lots of untuned and tuned instruments and listen to different genres of music.
We are all going to be very busy!

A Special Visit From Mrs Woolley
On Friday 11th March, Mrs Woolley came to talk to us about her important job as a Lollipop Lady. She told us about her special uniform and she brought her big "STOP" sign into the classroom. We went onto the playground so that we could learn some more about road safety - we used the track as a road and the bikes and scooters as the traffic.

Y1 Design and Technology - Spring 2 2022
After exploring "Attachment Techniques" in Design and Technology, the Year 1 children have designed and built their own stilt houses. Look how fantastic they are!
Friday 4th March 2022
World Book Day
On Friday 4th March, we celebrated "World Book Day" in school. It was such an exciting day! There were lots of different characters in the mixed Reception and Year 1 classes - who can you spot in the photographs?
During the day, we made book marks, shared our favourite books, made World Book Day cards and took part in a parade in the school hall.

Welcome back to school
This week, we have started to think about signs of Winter. We have designed our own hats, scarves and gloves, explored cold colours, been on a Winter walk and investigated ice.

Year 1 Bird Feeders
Thursday 9th December
In Science, the Year 1 children have been thinking about different birds. On Thursday afternoon, they made their own bird feeders to hang in the school grounds.

Bonfire Night
This week, we have been thinking about Bonfire Night. We have used different materials to make firework pictures and written words to describe them. We have explored a range of percussion instruments to create firework sounds, as well as tasting mushy peas and hotdogs! Here are some photographs to show you how busy we have been.
