This year children are getting the opportunity to finish the EYFS curriculum before moving onto the Year 1 Curriculum, we are so happy to be back!

-------------------------------------

Welcome back everyone, I hope you had a good Easter break!

This half term we are going to be very busy in our lessons!

In geography, we will be learning about hot and cold countries and we will be looking at where some of them are on a world map.

In art, we are learning about colours and how we can mix them together to make other colours. We are going to learn about the art of Rene Magritte and make our own fruit pictures with our new colour mixing skills!

In science, we are finding out about plants and what they need to grow. We have had a visit to Mrs Bailey's allotment which we really enjoyed. Now we are growing our own beans and will be going on a trip to Morrisons as well. We are very excited!

In our maths this half term, we will be learning about multiplication and division. We will be using our counting in 2s, 5s and 10s to help! After that, we will be learning about 3d shapes and about direction.

In literacy, we will be learning about suffixes and prefixes. We will be learning the 'ed', 'est', 'er' and 'ing' suffixes and the prefix 'un'. We are also doing lots and lots of reading, particularly on the phase 5 sounds. We love using these phonics games to help us!

In year one we have been very busy with our Easter themed week. Here are some of our favourites from our super exciting week! We started with designing our own Easter eggs, then we had an Easter egg hunt after we got a message from the Easter bunny!

We had a special visitor in our class! It was Linford the tortoise! We learned all about how to look after him and we even got to stroke and hold him if we wanted to!

Homework for this half term (Nov-Dec)

Hello everyone,

Each child has had a copy of the creative homework and chili challenge homework for this half term and this has also been posted on seesaw. Thank you so much to the children who have already posted on seesaw and brought work in for us to see. We love seeing the amazing things you have been doing!

Here is another copy of the homework sheets just in case you need them.
