International Activities Summer 2013

On 27th June we had our skipping workshop. We learned lots of new skills.Have a look at the photographs.
On 1st July we worked with an artist called Diana Shepherd. Check the photographs to see our wonderful art.
On July 2nd Sophie came to tell us the story of a princess who wanted the present of a star no one had seen before. Can you remember where the star was? Look at the photographs to find the answer.

July 4th.
We have been very busy creating our own animations. We told the story of 'The Hare and the Tortoise' and used ipads to record our work.

 

Friday 5th July.
We had a great time finding out about the culture of the native Australian people. They are called the Aborigines and have lived in Australia for thousands of years.We had a go at playing a traditional Aboriginal musical instrument called a didgeridoo.

Tuesday 9th July
We had lots of fun with trying Indian dancing. We looked at bells, jewellery and bindi.We put together different moves to create a dance.

Wednesday 10th July
We spent a morning with Steve who told us about the animals that live in Australia. We looked at Aboriginal artwork and created our own pictures.

 

Thursday 18th July
Our final activity was belly dancing.


Summer Term 2
This term our Topic is based on
'Here & There'
We will be looking at our local area and comparing it to that of Australia. 

 

 

Summer Term 1
This term we will be investigating what it was like to live in a castle a long time ago.We will be visiting Warwick Castle and comparing real and fairy tale castles.We will complete our topic with a medieval banquet.

 

 

We spent a fantastic day at Warwick Castle. What an amazing place.See if you can name the different parts of the castle when you look at the photographs.

We had a great time learning about scooter safety.

Spring term 2


'Two Boys And A Girl Making Music' By Jan Miense Molenaer is a painting we will be looking at this half term.

We have been looking at a violin and seeing if we can play it. It's not as easy as it looks!

Spring term 1
Our topic this term is Babies and Play. We will be looking at how babies grow and develop.
We will find out about caring for babies, including investigating, tasting and developing our own range of baby foods.

 

 

Have you seen the Kids' Zone? Play games, and visit some cool websites. You can vote for your favourites! 

We had a fantastic time at our sponsored sports event.

Look at the fun we had investigating toys from the past.

We made our own baby food. It was much tastier than the ones we bought. Dragon's Den here we come!
