Summer Term
Our new topic is called "The Great Outdoors."  We will be thinking about Spring, Summer, gardens, mini beasts and days out.  We will be exploring the school grounds for creatures and looking closely at them using magnifying glasses.  We will be planting seeds and growing our own vegetables and sunflowers.  We will be comparing big animals with small animals. We are very excited about visiting Twycross Zoo!

This week we have had such a lot of fun joining in with Bollywood dancing and continuing our topic on farms pretending to be farmers.

This week we have had started our topic about farms and had such great fun on our skipping day!!
This week we have been hunting for minibeasts in the garden and we have used special glasses to look at the world through the eyes of different creatures.  It was our class assembly on Thursday.  We told everyone about all the work we have been doing outside.  Well done Reception!

What an exciting week! our butterflies emerged from the cocoons and then we went to the zoo!!
This week in Reception we have started to find out about mini beasts. On Thursday we had an exciting visitor! His name was Brendan and he brought lots of different mini beasts for us to meet

We have had an exciting time in Reception this week!  After listening to the story of Peter Rabbit, we received a letter from Mr McGregor (the character in the book).  He asked us to help him to find all the carrots Peter had stolen from his garden.  We looked everywhere outside and we managed to find 54!  We worked really well as a team.

Week beginning 15th April 2013
We have been looking closely at daffodils this week and drawing them with oil pastels.  We've been thinking about all the new life we see in the Spring and making nests using sticks and leaves.  We worked as a team to tidy up the planters and we emptied our sand pit ready for some new sand.  Phew, what a busy week!
Look at the beautiful Easter hats we made at home for our Spring Celebration on Thursday 28th March.  We really enjoyed singing our special songs.  Happy Easter everyone!
